I started out very young on my own with no job and gifted with one thing -- survival skills. At 18, I moved to Valparaiso and secured an apartment. Convincing the owner that even though I did not have a job, I would get work and pay rent and utilities on time. Within a few days, I actually had three jobs. I woke up early and did minor janitorial duties for a company by my apartment. I then walked a mile to a diner where I was a waiter until 2 p.m. After that, I walked three miles to Wal-Mart where I was a stock person until 11 p.m.
While doing all of this walking I happened to go by a flooring company that was looking for help. I interviewed with the owner and started my flooring career at the bottom: the warehouse. Over the four years that I worked for this company I learned invaluable lessons on the day-to-day day grind of flooring and really life in general.
After four years in Valpo it was time for a change and I took a flooring sales position in Merrillville. I stayed with that company until they went bankrupt. Along the way, I learned invaluable selling skills with residential clients. From there I went to another company in Illinois and started my commercial career. The owner of this particular company was amazing and taught me all kinds of things that I still utilize to this day.
While visiting high school buddies in Indianapolis, I met an amazing woman. I knew right then, Indianapolis was going to be my home and the girl I fell in love with would be my wife. It just seemed like me in a way, big city attitude with small town feel. How could you not love the fact that Indy is on the ground floor and all we are doing is looking to the sky on how to build to it?
After moving to Indy, I worked for a few companies in sales and built up a client base. I still have clients from when I first started, which goes to show you no matter the name on the door, I was their guy. Upon working with one client, I was told they were unhappy with the owner, so I asked what if I went on my own would you follow and they said absolutely!
No matter what life has thrown at me, I always find a way to get things done! I come from a difficult background yet have risen above all of the nonsense to where I am today. I have an amazing wife, two beautiful children, incredible friends and a home I never thought possible just a few years ago.
For the past seven years I have developed several relationships with vendors and commercial and residential clientele. Currently we have crews and employees that are geared to handle any size project from floor to ceiling.
I’ll leave it at this: the best way to predict the future is to create it! JRH Renovations, LLC looks forward to any opportunity you have for us and in so building a relationship!
Sincerely,
Jim Hope
